The evaluation of individual skills and game play analyses is one of the most important services I offer to my students. The evaluation helps my students to understand their strengths and specific individual skill and game performance needs. The individual player evaluation helps me to create a progressive customized development program catering to my students' personal needs.

 

Another key point to the evaluation, is to post the criteria of my technical skills excellence expectation standard and what I as a teacher am looking for in a complete hockey player. The parents can also see and be educated in what the players are being evaluated on. These criteria must be clearly defined, objectively assessed and justifiable.

 

    Objectives of Player Evaluation

     ♦ To provide a fair and impartial assessment of a player's total hockey skills level 

 

     ♦ To make students aware  of their weaknesses and developmental potential

 

     ♦ To provide players with the knowledge, opportunity and flexibility to set their own                                      personal developmental goals

 

     ♦ To help students in setting their own personal developmental goals

 

     ♦ To make players aware of what and how they need to improve to reach their next level of                             play in National Hockey Leadership Program ( Achievement Program )

 

     ♦ To provide uniformity and consistency in the evaluation process such that a player and                                 parent expectations are consistent from year to year
